DUBAI, 6 March 2007 — Marmum Dairy Farm, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments Industries, wholly owned by Dubai Investments, is aiming to increase its milk production by 2.5 million liters in 2007 by importing 300 registered heifers from Australia. The move comes as increased commodity prices compel the dairy industry to offset high food costs by investing in cows with higher average milk production. The new importations will enable the Dairy to manage nearly the same number of cows, but with higher annual production rates projected to increase from 12.5 million liters in 2006 to15 million liters in 2007.
Dubai Development Share Begins Trading

DUBAI — The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has announced the listing of Dubai Development Company (DDC) PJSC, incorporated in Dubai, UAE. The company shares began trading yesterday under the trading symbol DDC. DDC is the 49th company to list its shares on the DFM and the ninth within the “Real Estate & Construction” sector. Investors will be able to trade DDC shares within the first class. The listing of ordinary shares of DDC was finalized and approved by the DFM in collaboration with Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority.
Sharjah Ruler Photo Exhibition

SHARJAH — “A glimpse of his life”, a photography exhibition of Dr. Sheikh Sultan ibn Mohammad Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, which opened to the public at Qanat Al-Qasba, has been inundated by visitors. The exhibition that portrays over 40 photographs of the ruler will continue until Thursday from 10a.m. to 10p.m. daily. Organized by Qanat Al-Qasba, this is the first time that such an exhibition, bringing photographs from the ruler’s personal collection has gone on display to the public. The photographs which range from a little boy smiling at the camera, a young sheikh in uniform and a teenager immersed in his studies, are all from the period between 1949 to 1970, displaying the young life of the ruler.
Tejari Qualifies for ISO 9001:2000

CABSAT2007, Vision-X Shows

DUBAI — Two major international trade exhibitions will open at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center (DICEC) today, further demonstrating the growth and development of the exhibitions sector in Dubai.
CABSAT2007, the premier event for the electronic media and satellite communications industry, and Vision-X, the region’s leading optical and ophthalmic exhibition will collectively welcome more than 650 exhibitors from across the world.
Both events have demonstrated major year-on-year growth, with CABSAT growing by 27 percent in 2007, and Vision-X Dubai expanding by more than 30 percent.
The 8th Vision-X Dubai 2007 will bring together more than 150 optical and ophthalmic exhibitors from Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East in the largest and most international edition in its history. Major industry players at this year’s event include AMICO, Al Jamil, Barakat, Egma Lens, Johnson & Johnson, Nikon, PMI, and Spectaris.
UBL Inaugurates Remodeled Branch

DUBAI — United Bank Limited (UBL), which completes 40 years of its operations in the UAE in July this year, yesterday announced opening its remodeled branch in Barsha on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, as part of a strategic and comprehensive re-profiling exercise undertaken by the bank to modernize its Middle East branches to enhance customer experience and service facilities. UBL Barsha branch was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who is also the Chairman of the Bank. The bank was privatised in October 2002 and is majority owned by the consortium of Abu Dhabi Group and the Bestway Group of the UK.
