RIYADH, 7 March 2007 — Angry that a matchmaking website was unable to deliver him a wife, a Saudi man launched a denial-of-service attack on the site, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. After the site’s staff informed the lonely bachelor that the women in the database rejected his application for marriage, he decided to utilize his computing skills to lash out at the matchmaking company. The report didn’t say if authorities punished the man or not. The online matchmaking company was established in November and claims to have facilitated the marriage of 21 Saudi couples.
