JEDDAH, 7 March 2007 — Al-Hayat International School in Jeddah’s Sharafiya district celebrated its Annual Day recently with a variety of informative and entertaining programs. The function began with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Mubeen Ahmed.
Dr. Hamad Saif Al-Battal, the school’s founder and principal who opened the festivities, commended the efforts of teachers and other staff members for the smooth functioning of the institution and thanked parents for their cooperation.
In his welcome address, Abdul Aziz V.K., the vice-principal, called for humanization of education. He said he believed that Al-Hayat would soon realize its vision of inspiring students to become civilized, humane and open-minded world citizens.
Group dances by girls and boys of the KG section, a traditional Saudi dance and a tableau expressing solidarity with the children of Palestine and Iraq were some of the annual day’s major attractions. In her concluding speech, Dr. Halima Zeba, headmistress, urged parents to spend more time with their children.
