JEDDAH, 7 April 2007 — More than 1,200 children and parents are expected to attend the first anniversary celebrations of Malarvadi Balasangam, a cultural organization of Keralite children, in Abhur on April 27, according to T.M. Abdul Jabbar, the group’s coordinator.
“We have planned a variety of attractive programs to enhance the innovative capabilities and skills of children,” said Jabbar, a business executive. A cultural procession of 500 children and an exhibition of children’s works are some of the event’s major attractions.
During the exhibition, children will display stamps, cards, photos of well-known personalities and other collections, Jabbar said. The exhibition will start at 4 p.m. while cultural programs such as folklore dances and musical presentations at 7.30 p.m..
Malarvadi Balasangam was established in January last year. It has now 10 units with 400 children who are in different age groups. The group was formed to promote good qualities and moral values among children and enhance their skills.
