JEDDAH, 7 April 2007 — The Kingdom’s largest diabetes center has been established at Prince Salman Hospital in Riyadh, according to Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Dakhil, health affairs director in the Riyadh region.
He also disclosed plans to build two emergency medical towers with 200 beds each at a total cost of SR400 million.
“Six new hospitals in Wadi Dawasser, Dawadmi, Qurwaieya, Reen, Houtat Sudair and Jamsh will be completed this year,” he told Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Work on a 500-bed hospital in eastern Riyadh will start shortly and work has begun on another 500-bed hospital in the north of the city, Al-Dakhil said.
Prince Salman Hospital has been given permission by the Ministry of Health to charge patients for its services.
