RIYADH, 14 November 2007 — Leading hospitals in 18 cities in the Kingdom launched a drive recently to disseminate information on the importance of health care and sanitation among newborn babies. All mothers in the maternity wards of the hospitals concerned were enlightened on the proper care of children, with special emphasis on their sanitation, including the use of pampers and changing diapers.

They were also given educational materials on baby health care. The mothers expressed the hope that such a campaign would be held once in a while, if not on a regular basis, for the “education of parents.

The campaign was held in cooperation with Pampers.

Abdullah Tashkandi, Pampers’ brand manager for the Arabian Peninsula, said that diapers and pampers for babies were also distributed during the campaign.

“Pampers believes in caring about a baby’s development and this was the prime objective that inspired us to undertake this initiative, which is in line with the company’s core philosophy to promote healthy growth, development and well-being of a child,” Tashkandi said.
