JEDDAH, 21 November 2007 — The Saudi International Motor Show (SIMS), Saudi Arabia’s 29th international event for motor vehicles, motorcycles, auto parts, accessories and garage equipment, is set at the Jeddah International Exhibition & Convention Center from Nov. 25-30.
Major automobile brands including Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, GM, Lamborghini, Proton, Tata, Infiniti, Suzuki, Hino and Yamaha are participating in the event being held with the support of Minister of Transport Dr. Jobara Al-Soraisry at the Jeddah International Exhibition & Convention Center at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25.
The show will have a special after-sale “Autocare” section, with companies exhibiting accessories, ad-ons and spare parts. This time, participants are coming from Germany and Thailand, in addition to a large number of Saudi companies and a dedicated media zone accommodating all magazines and publications related to the automobile industry.
Driven by the volume of new car sales — over 270,000 vehicles are imported annually — and its preowned car sector continuing to grow, the Kingdom is the largest market in the Middle East for auto parts, accessories, service and garage equipment.
Al-Rajhi Bank is the main sponsor of the show, its objectives being communicating to people and its customers its car leasing service, which has been designed to suit all customer needs, while handing the car over to its buyers in no more than 20 minutes.
The exhibition’s outdoor area is dedicated to commercial vehicles including pickup trucks and buses.
