RIYADH, 20 January 2008 — A 13-year-old Indian boy was killed and three others seriously injured in a car accident here on Friday.

Mohammed Abdul Sameer, a former student at the International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR), died on the spot while his brother, Abdul Nadeem, 15, who was driving the car involved in the fatal accident, is in critical condition at the Riyadh Medical Complex. Their father, Mohammed Abdul Saleem, is a teacher at IISR.

The other two boys, Aamer and Hussein Fawaz, who were in the car at the time of the accident, have also been admitted to the same hospital with injuries.

According to a neighbor, the father had dropped his two children at their friends’ house and had told them that he would return after sometime to take them back home. The boy later sneaked out of the house and took the family car for a drive.

Eyewitnesses said the boy lost control and crashed into a concrete traffic island.

The boy was buried at the Ummul Hamam graveyard after funeral prayers at a mosque in the Wazarat district yesterday.

Abdul Sameer was preparing to go to Hyderabad for further studies.
