MAKKAH, 27 January 2008 — Police arrested an African overstayer, who raped a 16-year-old African girl late on Friday night. Maj. Abdul Muhsin Al-Mayman, spokesman for the Makkah Police, told Arab News that the 28-year-old rapist, who was in a car, kidnapped the girl leaving a wedding hall. He then drove her to an isolated spot, raped her and abandoned her. She was later discovered by a patrol team, which took her to Al-Mansour police station where she provided officers with a description of the rapist and his car. The car was later spotted in a city neighborhood and the man was arrested.
