Moments when people are confronted with unfortunate circumstances, embarrassing moments, urgent problems, psychological and social pressures or a disaster at home, in the street or at work are when clear differences between human beings appear.
People’s responsiveness definitely differs, but they mainly split into two groups. There are those who appear to be smiley, calm, patient and able to take control of any situation or circumstance. Others look sad, disturbed and nervous, unable to control anything or even think.
The first group deals positively with everything. They are described as positive people. As for the others, they are known for their negativity. One of the funny stories that confirm the existence of this type of people is the story of a lion attacking a village suddenly. Because of his sudden attack, people split into two groups.
The positive people took the initiative to block the attack, stoned the lion with rocks and offered assistance to the injured. The negative team was crippled because of the shock and they had no power left to do anything.
Some of them were occupied in gossips and they just watched without doing anything. While some people in the first group were rescuing an individual, they passed by the spectators and the injured said to one of the onlookers: “Why do you stand here doing nothing to help the injured and defend the village by stoning the lion?” The man answered: “At least my feet can carry me. You’re carried by others!”
The verbal exchange took place between two negative people, but which one of them was the most negative — the injured or the spectator? In my opinion, both of them were guilty of extreme negativity, but the injured was so involved in his negativity that he was actually blaming others for his failure. It would have been better to throw him to the lion!
When comparing positive and negative people, we always find the former thinking of solutions; his ideas never end; he helps others, finds a solution to every problem even if it’s difficult, believes that accomplishment is a commitment and has dreams to achieve; he believes that working is hope, and aspires to the future knowing where his place is. He chooses what he says and argues with a nice convincing tone; he holds onto his values, gives up trivial matters and makes things happen. The positive person always treats people, as they like to be treated.
On the other hand, we find the negative group focusing on the problem, not the solution. They have a flood of excuses and justifications, expect others to help, find a problem in every solution, look at the possible solution as the most difficult thing to achieve and consider accomplishment to be a promise he gives and then procrastinates.
He has no dreams, but he has illusions and nightmares. His motto is to deceive others before he is deceived. He finds pain in working and everything he looks forward to is impossible. He says what he chooses and argues with weakness and rudeness. He holds on to trivial issues and gives up his values. He always needs those who support him and stand by him in all cases.
Positive people are brave, courageous, generous, loving, dedicated and passionate about what they do. Negative people are lazy, stingy, put others down and are cowards.
When the number of positive people increases in society, it’s the sign of a nation’s progress and development. And to change society from a negative to positive frame of mind, we’ve got to understand our weak points and insecurities, and then get rid of our flaws. We’ve got to arm ourselves with education and training so that we can become positive.
