MAKKAH, 16 March 2008 — A Saudi citizen and a Yemeni national were recently arrested in Makkah for robbing over 30 stores across the holy city, said Maj. Abdul Muhsin Al-Mayman, official spokesman for the Makkah police. Plainclothes officers who had been monitoring shops in the city arrested the duo during a robbery attempt.
“The two men had robbed more than 30 stores. Plainclothes police had been gathering evidence about the crimes and were monitoring major shops when they spotted the two men,” said Al-Mayman.
