MAKKAH, 26 March 2008 — For some reason that is beyond our ability to speculate, a 30-year-old man walked up to a bank teller here, withdrew SR65,000 from his account, turned to the people in the bank lobby and threw all of the money into the air like confetti and ran out of the bank. Police later detained the man to find out if he’s nuts or not.
Shihar School IS NOT for the Mentally Ill
TAIF, 26 March 2008 — Taif is known as Saudi Arabia’s highland getaway from the summer heat. It’s also home to the well-known Shihar Mental Health Hospital. The daily Al-Watan reported yesterday that education officials are mulling changing the name of Shihar Intermediate School. Why? Well, according to the general director of boy’s education in Taif, Mohammed Abu Rass, it’s because boys from other schools are teasing the Shihar students, calling them crazy.
