TAIF: Health official at a family fun park off Al-Hada road in this highland resort city shut down a food shop on the premises after a patron discovered two cockroaches in his shrimp sandwich. Yum! According to a report in Al-Madinah newspaper yesterday, a man discovered the creepy-crawly condiment when he opened his sandwich to add sauce. Perched on top of the shrimp salad filling were two dead cockroaches. When the man complained to the sandwich guy, he was offered another sandwich. It’s needless to say that this offer to replace one vermin-infested meal with another from the same unhygienic establishment was rejected by the customer. He complained to the park’s security and local health officials shuttered the establishment. Zoologically speaking, cockroaches are close relatives to shrimp, but this doesn’t mean they should be added to sandwiches.

Calling a man 'terrorist' lands him in trouble

JEDDAH: The Investigation and Prosecution Board is considering pressing charges against a man for calling another man a “terrorist” during an altercation in a restaurant. According to yesterday’s Al-Madinah newspaper, the fight started when the 29-year-old man moved a screen from one table in the restaurant, inadvertently exposing a family that was dining behind the barrier that allows families to eat without being seen by other patrons. During the argument, the man facing charges called the other man a terrorist. The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice has asked the court to apply the legal punishment against the man for defamation.
