DAMMAM: Many people in the Kingdom were treated to between a one and 20 percent partial solar eclipse yesterday at around 1:55 p.m. People in the central to eastern regions of the country had an opportunity to view the partial blocking of the sun by the moon over a 51-minute period. Special prayers were held at several places in the Eastern Province at 2 p.m. People in Saudi Arabia will witness a semi total lunar eclipse next month. Solar and lunar eclipses are natural phenomena that occur regularly and people in different countries would witness them in varying degrees.
