JEDDAH: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is also chairman of the Central Haj Committee and the Committee to Monitor Pilgrim Transport, presided over a workshop to devise plans on how to raise awareness among pilgrims to enable them to perform their rituals easily.
Government officials involved in Haj activities attended the event, which was held at the governor’s office in Jeddah. Prince Khaled said the workshop was held to upgrade the services provided to the guests of God with a particular focus on the capacity of holy sites to ensure people are able to safely and comfortably perform their Haj rites.
He added that a consultancy company has completed formulating an awareness campaign, which was discussed at the workshop. He also said that feedback from the workshop was necessary to move the campaign forward.
Prince Khaled said the campaign, which will begin after Ramadan, would be improved each year and extended to cover private sector employees.
The governor urged the private sector to join hands with government officials in implementing the campaign, saying this was a national duty.
