JEDDAH: Talayi Company Ltd., the exclusive distributors for Bridgestone International Tires in Saudi Arabia, has said that it expects to maintain strong financial performance and to increase growth throughout 2009, despite losses being felt by other distributors of international products worldwide due to the global recession.
The company says that it plans to introduce wider varieties of tires and develop new business strategies in order to keep up with the pace of the increasing number of customers and the high level demand and sales of their merchandise.
This plan comes as Talayi has made several achievements during the past year, including the successful opening of 19 service centers in various locations throughout the Kingdom. As part of its continued policy of expansion, the company has designed a plan that includes the opening of at least three new service centers every year to meet the growing demand. Since the company’s founding, it has taken on the responsibility of complementing the success of Bugshan Group, owners of the company; Bugshan first acquired the distribution rights from the Bridgestone agency sixty years ago.
Speaking about the companies achievements, Khalid Bawazir, the chief executive of Talayi stressed that 2008 had been a year of excellence and distinction for the company’s sales of tires, and that the company was on its way to further progress and achievement depending on the strength and dynamism of its products, and that there were many strategies that would be under way in the new year.
Bawazir also said that Talayi would continue to devise strategies of growth and expansion with particular emphasis on seizing new opportunities as exclusive partners with Bridgestone International Tires. He also said that he feels that working with one of the biggest and oldest international companies is a great asset to Talayi and added that both consumers and users of commercial vehicles have a wider selection of products and services.
In addition he stated that because of the solid business ties made between Talayi and Bridgestone International, the US-based company has managed to leap to the forefront of the tire industry, capturing the greatest share of the Saudi market despite fierce competition.
“I believe that there are several factors in the Saudi market which enables the company to hold a distinguished position in the tire sector, most notably among these factors are the strong and growing economy enjoyed by the Kingdom, as well as the promising market for cars, which in turn raises the sales of tires in this market to levels greatly exceeding the rates of sales in many other neighboring countries,” Bawazir said.
“We strive hard to supply the market needs to the satisfaction of our customers and meet their desires,” Bawazir said, adding that he believed that the success of Tayali company could not have happened without the stability of the Saudi economy.
