TAIF: A 50-year-old Saudi in Asheera, north of Taif, tried to commit suicide by immolation. The man, believed to be mentally ill, was taken to hospital and his condition is stable, said Brig. Turki Al-Shahri, spokesman for Taif police.
In another development, a man was killed and nine others injured in a major crash in Asheera on the Taif-Riyadh expressway. A jeep carrying foreign workers collided with a sedan in which the Saudi was traveling with his wife.
The injured have been taken to Prince Sultan Hospital in Hawiya while the Saudi’s body was taken to King Faisal Hospital in Taif.
