JEDDAH: Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), an initiative of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), signed an agreement with the Labor Ministry’s Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) recently. Under the agreement, 50 young men and women will receive on-the-job training for one year in major private companies.
The agreement will provide trainees with the opportunity to sharpen their skills and acquire specialized practical experiences in different fields.
By the end of the training period, BRJ will offer job opportunities to selected trainees, training certificates to others and help them secure job opportunities with other companies.
The agreement was signed by Hisham Linjawi, director of the HRDF in the Makkah province, and Ibrahim Mohammed Badawood, executive director of ALJCSP. “The agreement provides valuable opportunities for young men and women to acquire advanced skills and improve their competencies in the labor market,” Linjawi said.
“The program is an outcome of the effective partnership between HRDF and the private sector, especially ALJCSP,” he added.
On the other hand, Badawood highlighted the importance of the agreement, saying, “This program will assist both the private sector and the young graduates. The private sector will be able to select the needed human power from a wide range of graduates ... while the candidates will receive a fixed salary from the HRDF and high-quality training for one whole year in a major company.”
In cooperation with HRDF, BRJ launched the on-the-job training program last year. The program was introduced at several private companies and establishments, including banks, schools and hospitals.
More than 100 high school graduates have benefited from the program, which is supervised by professional trainers.
