We’re not the only ones making New Year resolutions. Gold’s Gym, located on Batterjee Street in Jeddah, has also decided to go through a makeover for 2010. With the addition of a number of different classes to jumpstart the New Year, the Kingdom’s largest fitness center is supporting our resolutions by making them much more fun and easier to stick to.
The woman’s section of Gold’s has introduced four unique classes. The Zumba, a favorite amongst members of the gym, is an aerobic class that is an eclectic fusion of Latin dance moves and rhythms, including the cha-cha-cha, merengue, flamenco and salsa.
The class, designed for participants of all levels, is an exhilarating hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, fun. Plus, you get to learn some Latin moves at the same time.
Drum Beats is a fun workout involving drumsticks, an exercise ball and music. This class is designed to burn fat and improve physical fitness through high-energy drumming and choreography. An alternative to medication, the beating is extremely cathartic, and helps relieve anger and everyday stress. An amusing way to let loose and enjoy burning calories, the class is a safe activity for people of all ages.
Boot Camp is just as intense as it sounds. A cross-training workout that combines cardio segments, calisthenics and military drills, the program is a great self-challenge.
And while your body never hated you so much, you also never loved how great it looked either.
The class is a great change of pace from regular aerobics and is sure to kick your body right into shape.
Lesmills Bodyattack is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina.
This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises to give you the fit, toned body you promised your 2009 self that you would achieve in 2010.
Gold’s Gym’s men section has also upped the ante, with the addition of some classes. The men’s side provides numerous martial art classes from Muy Thai to Capoeira — an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of the martial arts and dance. So whether your resolution was to gain a six-pack or simply be healthier, Gold’s Gym is doing its part to help you be the 2010 version you strive to become.
