Eleven teams representing the Asian consulates in Jeddah participated in the one-day fun-filled event where diplomats, staff and families attended.

Led by Consul General Ezzedin H. Tago,  Philippine Consulate carded a winning total pinfalls of 1,982 in the match against Brunei Darussalam Consulate, which took first runner-up position on 1,954 pinfalls. Third place went to Indonesian Consulate on 1,951.

Malaysian Consul General Hidayat Abdul Hamid was named Best Consul General Bowler with a high game of 160 pinfalls.

The trophy for ladies high series and high game went to Yamini Wahjudi of Indonesia who fired a three-game series of 409 and 160.  Mariano Gueco from the Philippine Consulate clinched the men’s high series award at 512, while  Acod Mangondato  Jr.  nabbed the men’s high game award at 190.

Philippine Consulate hosted the tournament held annually to promote camaraderie among members of the club.  The other teams entered in addition to Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia were China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Japan’s Consul General HToshimitsu Ishigure, is the club’s coordinator and dean.

The other consuls general present during the event were Wang Yong of China,  Sabarullah Khan of Sri Lanka, Dal-jun Han of Korea, Sayeed Ahmed Baba of India and Hidayat Abdul Hamid of Malaysia.

Among other activities, the ACGC will organize a film festival in February and March.
