- RIYADH: Deputy ministers of information are scheduled to meet in Cairo on Sunday in an extraordinary summit at the Arab League to discuss a project to establish an Arab Media Commission suggested by Secretary-General Amr Moussa and approved by ministers in February.
Saudi Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Abdullah Al-Jasser is expected to participate in the meeting by presenting a paper on the founding system of the commission.
Al-Jasser revealed the need for establishing such a commission, and to set values, measures and standards for media messages in its different channels.
Al-Jasser recommended that private and government media sectors integrate and coordinate between them, to develop Arab media and enhance freedom of expression and Arab identity.
