- THE JungleBLUE fashion show brought untamed beauty to the catwalk last Thursday in an all-ladies fashion show held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Jeddah.
Sponsored by Paris Gallery and media sponsor, Dazzle Magazine, the fashion show, “Spanish Love Affair,” included a number of different garments designed by JungleBLUE.
“JungleBLUE’s smart-casual designs are a mix of exotic, gipsy, authentic, hippie-chic and multicultural styles,” explains Shaima Tayeb, owner of the JungleBLUE boutique. “So, we chose to introduce the collection through a Spanish theme and the woman of the collection is the woman before meeting her lover. As a result, she chooses only the most feminine and beautiful of outfits.”
JungleBLUE showcased an array of stunning designs with a bohemian and effortless chic that accentuated the female body and celebrated its beauty. The evening wear was a colorful fusion of patterns that draped the body to form a flowing presence on the catwalk. “The collection was summer — jungle fever — style,” said Tayeb. “JungleBLUE designs are a reflection of colors, beauty and nature.”
The show was well received with the audience clapping as each piece gracefully fluttered down the runway. Wish lists were quickly discussed as women pointed to the serene compositions that appeared both organic and bold on the softly lit platform.
Tayeb designed a few pieces of the collection, while others are an anthology of unique, handpicked treasures discovered in lands of distinct philosophies and fruitful cultures. “The CoconutPINK line is a ready-to-wear collection of handpicked items,” reveals Tayeb who was inspired by Asia and its breathtaking nature to create her boutique.
Since Tayeb was a child, she has always been a fashionista. She would combine unique outfits to express her innate creativity. “I found fashion as a way to express my personal experience with nature, art and cultural fusion,” she confesses. JungleBLUE itself has a unique concept in which customers are encouraged to come and exchange experiences over coffee and good energy.
The boutique hosts everything from traditional wear, such as abayas and kaftans, to swimwear and evening dresses. The wedding collection was young and modern, while overtly possessing the feminine flair that has become synonymous with the boutique’s design aesthetic. The brand’s ready-to-wear garments range from about SR700 and up and accessories start at SR70.
“The JungleBLUE woman is any woman who believes in her inner beauty and who embraces her individuality through unique clothes. She is also creative, special, and self-aware. Simply put, she can be any woman,” says Tayeb.
