- RIYADH: Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Chair for Historical and Civilization Studies of the Arabian Peninsula organized its first workshop at the headquarters of the King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) in Riyadh on Wednesday.
In his opening speech, Secretary-General of Darah Fahd Al-Sammari thanked Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman for supporting academics researching the history of the Arabian Peninsula, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Under the patronage of Prince Salman, King Saud University and Darah signed a contract to establish the chair in December 2009.
Abdul Aziz Al-Halabi, professor of history and civilization at the College of Literature at King Saud University, said the chair aims to support researchers and postgraduate students in the history of the peninsula, support international seminars, publish studies, and launch research partnerships with other centers of history.
