- JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian shares fluctuated on the first day of the week as the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) headed for a monthly gain.
- The index closed slightly higher at 6,283.73 points on Saturday led by gains in the construction and petrochemical sectors.
The sector activity for the day was positive with 13 out of 15 sectors closing with gains ranging from 0.02 percent by the Telecommunication & Information Technology to 2.36 percent by the Multi-Investment sector. The losses on the other hand were seen in 2 sectors namely the Retail and Media & Publishing sector with respective losses of 0.06 percent and 1.26 percent. The overall market breadth for the day was also positive with 92 advancers against 32 decliners giving it an AD ratio of 2.875, the Financial Transaction House (FTH) said in its daily market commentary.
The stock market turnover reached SR2.21 billion as compared to SR2.38 billion on Wednesday.
Shares in Samba Financial Group declined 1.23 percent to close at SR60. Riyad Bank and Bank AlJazira shares fell 1.38 percent and 0.59 percent respectively.
