- ISLAMABAD: A senior leader of ethnic-based Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) and a member of Sindh Assembly Raza Haider was gunned down by unknown assailants in Karachi on Monday.
Haider was elected to the provincial assembly from Orangi Town PA -No.94. Sources said Haider was inside a mosque in Nazimabad area when two unknown attackers sprayed bullets on him and his body guard, Khalid Khan.
Reacting over the lawmaker's killing, police said, "Target killing has become a routine matter in Karachi. Raza Haider also fell victim to this menace."
Interior Minister Rehman Malik held Lashkar-e- Jhangvi responsible for the murder of the MQM law maker.
Talking to journalists Malik said, "Terrorists have entered in Karachi. Their presence in target killing cannot be ruled out."
