The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) based at the prime minister’s secretariat in Islamabad is coordinating the rescue and relief operations, the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah said in a press release.

“The floods have resulted in death and destruction of human lives and livestock, aside from destroying and damaging infrastructure,” the statement said. Entire towns and villages have been wiped out and more than two million people have been displaced. Already, more than 1,500 deaths have been reported from flood-affected areas.

Donations may be sent to the National Disaster Management Fund in Pakistani currency to Account No. 000294-2, Branch Code-1732, National Bank of Pakistan, Prime Minister’s Secretariat Branch, Islamabad. Donations in US dollar may be sent to Account No. 9901526, Branch Code-0341, National Bank of Pakistan, main branch, Islamabad. Swift Code: NBPAKKA021.

Donors desiring to send relief materials should arrange to transport them to Pakistan on their own. “However, in order to avoid wasting time and resources ... it is preferable that cash donations are sent to National Disaster Management Fund in the designated accounts,” the consulate said.
