Officers had been monitoring the man who claimed to represent a national company based in Jeddah.

Police said the man did not have the required municipal license to sell medicines and only had a chamber of commerce and industry certificate permitting the sale of foodstuffs.

The man had also converted part of his building into a warehouse to stock food items that had passed their expiry date. Health officials in Yanbu collected samples of the products for testing.
