- JEDDAH: The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) in Hail arrested a Saudi who was trying to blackmail a woman into having sex with him saying he would send photos of her to her husband if she did not.
A spokesman for the Haia said the man, who lives in the city’s Al-Shamli district, obtained the woman’s pictures after bribing one of her female friends.
He added that the woman was terrified and that she hid her husband’s mobile so he would not receive the pictures.
The woman then became mentally ill, unable to understand how a man she did not know could try to destroy her marriage. After a lot of thinking, she finally decided to contact the Haia.
The commission said that after authenticating the woman’s report, its members arrested the man and found the pictures in his possession.
The commission said the man was handed over to the police who have referred him to the General Investigation and Prosecution Board for further investigations.
