The competition is targeting young Saudi photography lovers in the age group of 18 to 35 years old.

Amani Ahmed Al-Othmani, the competition supervisor, said: “The competition seeks to encourage photography lovers in the Kingdom and prepare them to enter the labor market. This is undoubtedly is part of BRJ’s main objectives of creating job opportunities for young Saudi males and females.”

Al-Othmani said the three top winners will be selected by a panel of judges from candidates who will be enrolled in a special workshop. The panel includes Suzan Ba Iqail, a famous Saudi photographer; Salem Ba Sabeen, president of the Lens Photography House; Majid Munshi, director of creative division in 3 Points; and Wid Abdul Jawad, photography professor at Dar Al-Hikma College.

At the end of the competition, an exhibition of winning works will be organized.

The first place winner will receive valuable prizes, including photography equipment and an employment contract with Bab Rizq Jameel, while the second and third place winners will receive photography equipment and financing to start their own small-scale projects.

Launched a week ago, more than 100 participants have already applied for the competition. The last date for accepting entries is Aug. 25, while the winners will be announced on Nov. 29.
