"Prince Salman will return to the Kingdom after spending some time recuperating," the statement said.

Salman thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan for continuously inquiring about his health. He also thanked all Saudis for their prayers and good words and assured them that he is enjoying good health.

Salman became the governor of the Riyadh Region in 1962. During the past five decades, he has supervised and encouraged the expansive growth of the city from a mid-sized town into a major urban metropolis.

On a larger stage, Prince Salman has also served as an important liaison to develop tourism, capital projects, and foreign investment inside his country. He is also known for his humanitarian activities.
