The donation, aimed at helping those affected by the disaster, was made during a telethon organized by Saudi Television on Tuesday, a Samba statement said.

"This donation comes in response to the humanitarian appeal made by the king to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly people of Pakistan and it embodies the principles of solidarity and compassion urged by our religion,” the Samba chief said.

“We are accustomed to such initiatives by King Abdullah, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier. They are humanitarian initiatives to relieve our Muslim brothers,” said Al-Eissa.

"This donation is consistent with the bank's strategy aimed at supporting various humanitarian and community activities,” he added.
