- JEDDAH: The Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) is about to complete drafting a national strategy for environmental awareness that will support the environmental legislation in the country.
This was announced by PME President Prince Turki bin Nasser, Wednesday evening after a meeting of the Environmental Council.
He said the new strategy will help boost environmental programs in the Kingdom. The meeting discussed a number of proposals concerning the environment in the Kingdom, he added.
Prince Turki said the council would discuss in a forthcoming meeting Saudi Arabia’s membership in the Arab Environment Facility based in Beirut.
He reiterated that the PME is making strenuous efforts to improve the environmental condition in the Kingdom through a number of projects.
