Naji bin Ali Haraba won the Okaz youth poet award worth SR100,000. This award is given to young Saudi poets and poetesses, organizers said.

The award for the best painting this year went to Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Rabat, a sculpture artist from Saudi Arabia for his painting “Khail.” This prize valued at SR100,000 is given to encourage fine arts and it highlights the strong relationship between arts and poems, one organizer said.

Sabah Al-Arbeeli, a Briton living in Qatar, and Mathna Al-Obaidi, an Iraqi, shared the prize for the best Arabic calligraphic writing valued at SR100,000. Sami Ibrahim Suleiman of Egypt won the photography prize for seniors (SR60,000) while Bayan Ahmed Basari of Saudi Arabia won the prize for juniors (SR40,000).

Prince Khaled said the best poet was selected from more than 480 entries. “This prize is open to all Arab poets.”
