- DAMMAM: Here’s a desert-themed parable.
- According to a report in Thursday’s Al-Madinah newspaper, a man stole a car in Dammam’s Al-Salihiyya district and took it for a spin in the desert.
Then the thief got stuck in the sand . . . in Saudi Arabia . . . in August . . . with no water. A couple of days later, the police found the car after its owner reported it stolen. The body of the thief was also found nearby. There are a few valuable lessons in this tale, but perhaps the most important lesson is that if you steal a car, take it to the desert, get stuck in the sand and die, then few people are going to have much sympathy for you.
