According to reports, tailors in the country were so busy producing Thobes (traditional Arab men’s garments) that they had to stop taking new orders.

“The size of the tailoring market during the last days of Ramadan can reach more than SR100 million. Tailors all over the Kingdom want their share of the cake,” a tailor in Makkah said.

The prices of tailoring vary according to areas of the shops and the styles of stitching.

Men usually prefer to wear the white, plain ghutra instead of the checkered shumaq during the Eid celebrations because the ghutra is more formal.

The sales of ghutras rapidly increase in the last days of Ramadan and during the entire summer season. The ghutras made in Switzerland can go up to SR135 while the one made in Japan can be bought at SR35.

Many Saudi men prefer to have their iqal (head band) manufactured instead of buying ready-made ones.
