- JEDDAH: The residents of Jeddah will get an opportunity to view Pakistani and Yemeni folklore dances at Al-Bayaah Square on Sunday after Asr prayer on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, Sami Nawwar, director of the department of tourism and culture at the Jeddah municipality and chairman of the municipality’s historic area branch, told Arab News.
“The residents and visitors of Jeddah are in for a treat,” he said. “The Saudi Abu Hilal troupe will participate in the celebrations by presenting sailor songs, which are very popular in Jeddah.”
He also said a number of troupes will make shows at Beit Nasif and Obhur.
Nawwar said the number of spectators on the first day of the Eid was evidence of the success of the city’s festival program.
“Many people from outside come to Jeddah particularly to witness its spectacular Eid celebrations,” he said.
