- TOKYO: Haruna Asami has won the women's 48-kilogram title on Sunday as Japan won three more gold medals on the fourth day of the world judo championships.
Asami beat compatriot Tomoko Fukumi in the 48-kilogram final and Yuka Nashida defeated Mizato Nakamura in the 52-kilogram event.
Japan's Jumpei Morishita beat Brazil's Leandro Cunha in the men's 66-kilogram final.
Uzbekistan's Rishod Sobirov beat Georgii Zantaraia of the Ukraine to win the gold medal in the men's 60-kilogram event.
Japan has won eight gold, four silver and six bronze medals in the five-day tournament, which concludes on Monday with the open-weight category.
