The procession passed through various streets of Makkah, including Khaanisa, Maabda, Jumaiza, Otaibiya, Nuzha, Sitteen, Umm Al-Qura, Mansour, Nekasa, Kaakiya, Al-Noor Hospital and King Abdul Aziz Sports City.

At the end of the procession, a ceremony was held at the sports city with a variety of cultural programs comprising folk dances and an operetta in which 200 artists including children participated.

The Makkah Municipality, Traffic Department, Red Crescent, Makkah Police, Passport Department, Mujahedeen forces, and Civil Defense Department took part in the procession.

A large number of gifts and prizes, including a car, mobile phone devices and electric equipment were distributed during the ceremony.

In Jeddah, the Ministry of Culture and Information organized a National Day ceremony in Obhur in coordination with the mayoralty. A number of government officials and important personalities attended the event. Famous Saudi actor Fayez Al-Malki opened the celebrations and urged Saudis to work hard to take the Kingdom to the level of advanced countries. Saleh Al-Mogaileth, assistant undersecretary at the Ministry for Television Affairs, emphasized the efforts of the various public media to cover the National Day celebrations in various parts of the country.

A documentary on the Kingdom’s history and development and King Abdul Aziz’s efforts to unify the country was displayed during the ceremony.

Apart from an operetta, there was a drama by Abdul Aziz Al-Shammary and Khalil Al-Johani and folklore dances by Safwa and Dariya troupes.

Al-Mogaileth honored well-known Saudi artists including Fayez Al-Malki, poets Saud Al-Asheikh and Saleh Al-Shadi and singers Khaled Abdul Rahman, Abbas Ibrahim and Muhammad Al-Zaiaali as well as Jeddah Mayor Hani Aburas.

As part of the National Day celebrations, Jeddah streets were decorated with more than 1,000 Saudi flags. The mayoralty had set up a committee to organize the Obhur event under the leadership of Ali Al-Qahtani, deputy mayor for services.

To mark the event, the people of Jeddah had prepared a large Saudi flag — 30 meters in length. Saudi artists also prepared a 25-meter wall painting to highlight the National Day. Special National Day T-shirts and cups were distributed as gifts among the participants.
