- JEDDAH: Five Chadians were arrested for robbing a Lebanese woman in an alley in Jeddah’s Al-Kandhara district on Sunday.
- The gang stole the woman’s handbag containing SR8,000 and two mobile phones.
“The woman was walking alone to her house when she was attacked. She tried to resist but they pushed her to the ground, causing her to break her foot. She also sustained bruises to her body. She was then helped by members of the public as she lay on the floor asking for help,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police.
Police immediately surrounded the crime scene and arrested one of the men who was recognized by the woman. This man then led police to the other four men. “The five thieves have been arrested and charged with theft and assault,” said Al-Juaid.
