His arrest comes 24 hours after he allegedly murdered his 35-year-old victim, a mother of three, in the Kandara district south of Jeddah. Police found the woman’s body in a pool of blood in an old house.

Criminal investigation officers have collected evidence, including fingerprints from the scene of the crime. The killer had cut the woman’s throat. Security officers have collected forensic evidence to determine the weapon used to kill the victim.

“Soon after the incident, Jeddah police launched an investigation to hunt down the murderer,” said 1st Lt. Nawaf Al-Booq, acting police spokesman. He said the victim was an overstayer.
