The Bachchan household was full of guests when the clock struck midnight, and Jaya not just arranged for gifts for the family but also for the guests. The 68-year-old actor said his wife's gesture left him overwhelmed.

"She hung little gifts for us all and as the midnight hour struck, asked us over to look for our goodies. It was so sweet and generous and considerate to have done all that - and all done quietly, all by herself! Oh ! Such a wonderful moment," he wrote. Jaya, a perfect homemaker, also treated everyone with some "special cooking."
