The winners, five in each of three age groups, are entitled to participate in the contest's world event in which there will be winners from 45 other countries. Those selected have the chance of winning a trip to Japan.

Delighted at his son winning first place in the under 10 age group, the father of Ahmed Khalid Ahmed Saklooa said: “Ahmed was so enthusiastic and excited about drawing his dream car of the future and now our family is thrilled that he has won first prize.”

The parents of Batool Jawad Mousa Bo-Khamseen, winner of the top prize in the 13-15 age group, said that from an early age their daughter had shown skills for drawing and they were really proud that she won top place in the contest.

The panel of judges included two local artists — Nawal Musali and Naher Marzoq — and an ALJ representative. The first five winners in the under-10 age group were Ahmed Khalid Ahmed Saklooa, Mohamed Hawi Afandu Hakami, Roo'a Ashraf Mohamed Al-Halawani, Abdulaziz Fawaz Muhsen Al-Ghosin and Alyah Salah Zuher Al-Humaidi.

The first five winners in the 1-12 age group were Mohamed Omar Ba-Habri, Osama Maan Abdulsamad Al-Mubarak, Reda Habib Ayesh Al-Breman, Leen Kamal Abdulrahman Al-Mutlaq and Abdullah Maher Hamed Idrees.

The first five winners in the 13-15 age group were Batool Jawad Mousa Bo-Khamseen, Maymonah Abdulrahman Mohamed Moner Hajar, Nawaf Omar Mohamed Ba-Wajeeh Al-Amodi, Mashael Haroon Kareem and Mustafa Mohamed Tawfeeq Noor Al-Deen Al-Hadad.
