“The suspects were captured during an operation carried out by police investigators. Three of the suspects had no residency documents, while two others used forged papers,” said police spokesman First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq. If convicted, all six suspects will face jail or deportation.

In Jeddah’s Al-Aziziyah district, a Sudanese national in his 40s was arrested for embezzling SR400,000 from a local company he worked for, police said. “The man’s arrest follows a complaint made by his employer. The suspect admitted his crime to police in northern Jeddah,” said Al-Bouq. He said the money was recovered, while the suspect is currently in custody in a north Jeddah police station.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested recently in Jeddah’s Anakish neighborhood accused of using her house to sell and distribute alcohol. “Police investigators tracked the woman’s movements following tip-offs from residents in the area. She also admitted to investigators of working with a small liquor and alcohol distribution network in Anakish,” said Al-Bouq.
