- CAIRO: Egyptian actress Athar Al-Hakeem has retired for professional reasons, Al-Watan reported.
- She said part of the reason she was quitting was related to her work for two directors and she was worried the finished productions would be mediocre.
She added that each director had his own opinion and style. Al-Hakeem also said that directors these days insist on finishing production early to save money.
She said she would not reconsider her decision. She added that she would continue to participate in social occasions and serve her country. Al-Hakeem was recently part of a group of actors that visited Kuwait recently to promote tourism.
