- JEDDAH: Police are searching for a runaway Indonesian housecleaner who is suspected of attempting to abduct her employer’s daughter, police said.
“The housecleaner deceived her employer under the pretext of throwing away trash to get out of the house. She asked to take along with her the employers’ daughter in order to win their trust for the exit. When the girl’s father arrived, he was told about the disappearance,” said Jeddah police spokesman Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid. He added: “Later, a call was made reporting the missing child and a possible kidnapping.”
Following the call, police launched an investigation and searched in and around Al Samer district. “During investigations, policemen were approached by neighbors of the parents who said the missing child was actually left by the cleaner before she ran away,” said Brig Al-Juaid, adding that the child was safe and handed over to the parents. Police dropped the abduction charges and are now looking for the maid. They expect to capture her soon.
Meanwhile, Makkah police have stepped up search for an Indonesian woman in her 20s after she escaped from a maternity hospital, police said. The woman was admitted to the hospital for medical examinations ordered by the police following her arrest for having been involved in immoral activities. Security sources said the woman waited for medical staff to leave her room and left without being noticed.
