- DAMMAM: The Coast Guard in Dammam rescued four girls from drowning in two separate incidents after they swam in a dangerous area.
According to Dammam Coast Guard spokesman Col. Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, the four girls who were all aged under 15 were in a no-swim zone. He said in the first incident a girl almost died from drowning at Half Moon beach. A rescue team saved her and an ambulance team transferred her to the King Fahd Military Medical Complex for treatment.
In the second incident, three girls nearly drowned in a beach in Jubail. Divers of the Royal Commission rescued the girls. They were transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
