- TOKYO: Toyota is setting up a school for manufacturing training as well as strengthening power-generating equipment in the disaster-struck region of Japan.
The Japanese automaker is sending a message Tuesday of its reaffirmed commitment to production in Japan — especially the northeastern area devastated by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Toyota Motor Corp. also said it will donate 300 million yen ($3.8 million) for educational help for children, many who lost their parents in the disaster, and another 3 million yen ($38,000) to support the arts.
