He said under these alternatives, Saudi students could opt to stop their scholarship and resume studies once the situation in Yemen was resolved and study in the Kingdom in the meantime.

He said affected Saudi students could also join private Saudi universities and the ministry would continue to grant them internal scholarships.

The undersecretary said the ministry kept open the possibility of transferring the students to universities in any of the countries covered by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's scholarship program to study medicine or medical sciences (with the exception of Malaysia and Britain). He said Saudis studying in Yemen could also join any Arab university and they would still be covered by the scholarship.

The undersecretary also said they could change their majors and join any university in any country covered by the scholarship program, with the exception of Malaysia and Britain.
