- MANILA: Officials say they have told two Chinese men who allegedly had an altercation with the Philippine president’s brother-in-law during a domestic flight to return home.
The two are part of a Chinese tourism media group invited to tour the Philippines. Police Senior Superintendent Art Evangelista says they manhandled the husband of President Benigno Aquino III’s eldest sister after the couple asked them to be careful with their cameras while they snapped pictures inside the plane Saturday.
Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim says the men later apologized and agreed to return home to avoid further embarrassment.
The men could not be reached for comment. The Chinese Embassy confirmed the incident took place.
