Speaking at the awards distribution ceremony for top performers of the school, the consul general said, “You students are the future leaders, and the entire nation has great expectations of you all after this fine start in your life’s journey.”

He said to achieve success, perpetual hard work, discipline and punctuality were essential. He urged the students to concentrate on their studies and seek guidance from the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah for a better future.

Apart from congratulating the top performers, he exhorted others to do better and said the success of the students was also the result of fine support from the school’s teachers and administrative staff along with encouragement from parents.

“All these contributions helped in achieving these good results,” Salik said.

Salik presided over the ceremony while Pakistani poet Khursheed Rizvi, whose book on the history of classical Arabic poetry before Islam was recently launched, was the chief guest.

Rizvi in his address urged the students to follow the principles of honesty, discipline and hard work, as enunciated by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Mohammad Iqbal. “The success of these two doyens is there to see. And they practiced what they preached,” he said.

Rizvi appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students, and said it is their hard work that in the end brought fame to the school.

Both the consul general and the chief guest later distributed awards and prizes to the top performers of the school.

Earlier, the Pakistan International School Azizia, Jeddah, Principal Ashfaq Mahmood, in his welcome address, apprised the audience and guests about the achievements and the future plans of the school.
